Republican John Deaton Wins Massachusetts Senate Primary, Will Face Elizabeth Warren in November
Republican attorney and Marine veteran John Deaton of Bolton won the US Senate primary in Massachusetts on Tuesday. He will now face longtime Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the November general election.
Deaton, a personal injury attorney and crypto advocate, moved from Rhode Island to Massachusetts last year. He faced off against Ian Cain of Quincy and Bob Antonellis of Medford.
Deaton was far better-funded than his competitors and has focused his campaign on the migrant crisis and "retiring" Warren from office.
Massachusetts has not elected a Republican to statewide office since 2023. Polling suggests Warren is likely to hold her seat in November.
All three candidates have made the border central to their campaign and bashed the state's sanctuary policies. Antonellis has also come under fire for claiming the 9/11 terrorist attacks were an inside job.
