Double Podium Finishes for India in Athletics at the Paris Paralympics
India celebrated a remarkable day at the Paris Paralympics, securing double podium finishes in both the men's javelin throw F46 and the men's high jump T6 events.
In the javelin throw, Ajeet Singh and Sundar Singh Gurjar brought home silver and bronze medals respectively. Ajeet delivered a personal best throw of 65.62m in his last attempt, securing the silver medal. Sundar, replicating his performance from the Tokyo Paralympics, clinched the bronze with a season-best throw of 64.96m.
Meanwhile, in the high jump, Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu continued India's success with silver and bronze medals. Sharad cleared a height of 1.88m, while Mariyappan jumped 1.85m, securing their respective podium finishes.
These double podium finishes mark a significant achievement for India at the Paris Paralympics, showcasing the nation's growing strength in para-athletics.
