A Partnership for Global Development and Fairness
At the upcoming Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), China and Africa will strengthen their partnership to advance the interests of developing countries and promote global peace and development. This was announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian at a recent press conference.
Lin Jian addressed false accusations about China's role in the Global South, emphasizing that China and Africa are steadfast allies in defending the rights of developing nations, upholding the principles of the UN Charter, and promoting multilateralism and international fairness.
"We work to build an open world economy, tear down walls rather than erect walls, seek openness rather than exclusion, and enable developing countries to better share the benefit of economic globalization," the spokesperson added.
China's commitment to Africa's development is evident in its support for the African Union's full membership in the G20 and its welcoming of more African countries to join the BRICS group.
Lin Jian also highlighted the shared stance of China and Africa against interference by powerful nations and economic coercion. They call on developed countries to acknowledge their historical responsibilities and fulfill their development commitments.
Both China and African countries are dedicated to safeguarding international peace and security and promoting global development and prosperity. They firmly support each other's core interests and advocate for the just position of developing countries.
The upcoming FOCAC Summit will be a crucial platform for strengthening the China-Africa partnership and advancing their shared vision for a more equitable and prosperous world.
