Exchange of Fire Reported in Udhampur, Search Operations Intensified in Doda
On Wednesday evening, a brief exchange of fire was reported at the Sang Police Picket in Basantgarh Tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district. According to SSP Udhampur Joginder Singh, an unidentified individual believed to be a militant fired upon the police picket.
Taking advantage of the darkness and dense forest, the militant fled the scene after the exchange of fire. Security forces have intensified their search operations in the area.
Meanwhile, in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces continued their search operations on Wednesday, a day after an encounter with terrorists. The encounter broke out in the Sezan forest area on Tuesday evening, following an attack on an Army convoy on July 8th.
The attack, which took place on the Machedi-KindliMalhar road, resulted in the death of five soldiers and injuries to eight others. The area is believed to be part of an old infiltration route along the international border, which has been reactivated by attackers.
The search operations are being conducted by the Army, police, and CRPF to track down the militants involved in the attack.

It's disturbing to see that militants are still able to carry out attacks in the region.
