Japan Dominates USA in Softball Exhibition Series

Japan showcased its softball prowess, defeating the United States 8-1 in six innings to secure a clean sweep of their three-game exhibition series on Monday.

Star pitcher Miu Goto led the charge for the reigning Olympic champions, delivering three dominant innings. Japan's defense held the Tokyo Games silver medalists scoreless through the first five innings at Yokohama Stadium.

The home team capitalized on their momentum, adding four runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure an early victory. This decisive win followed Japan's 1-0 triumph in Thursday's series opener and their 9-5 victory in Game 2 on Saturday.

While softball is currently not part of the Olympic program, it is slated to make a triumphant return at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. This series served as a valuable opportunity for both teams to assess their strengths and weaknesses as they prepare for the upcoming Olympic qualification process.
