Biden's Annual Physicals and Neurological Consultations
The White House physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, has released a letter clarifying the nature of President Biden's annual physical examinations and neurological consultations.
Dr. O'Connor stated that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist specializing in Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, has been the neurology consultant to the White House Medical Unit since 2012. He has examined President Biden for each of his annual physicals, including the most recent one in February.
The letter emphasizes that Dr. Cannard was chosen for his "very wide expertise," making him "flexible to see a variety of patients and problems." His selection was not specifically due to his specialization in movement disorders.
Dr. O'Connor also confirmed that President Biden did not see a neurologist outside of his annual physicals. He further clarified that no signs of neurological disorders were found during the February physical.
This statement comes after concerns arose regarding President Biden's cognitive abilities and the reported visits by a Parkinson's disease expert to the White House. Dr. O'Connor's letter aims to address these concerns by providing transparency about the nature of the neurological consultations and the President's overall health.
