Popular YouTuber Suk Min Choi, also known as Alex Choi, has found himself in legal trouble after a video he posted on social media showed two women shooting fireworks out of a helicopter at a Lamborghini. This stunt, featured in a video titled "Destroying a Lamborghini With Fireworks," has led to federal charges being filed against Choi for causing the placement of an explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft without proper authorization.
According to a federal criminal affidavit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Choi did not obtain necessary approvals from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for filming the video. Additionally, he lacked the required explosives license or permit from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for the dangerous actions depicted in the video. The nearly 11-minute video showcases Choi activating a "fire missiles" function, leading to fireworks being shot at the luxury sports car from the helicopter.
Choi, who has a substantial following on YouTube with nearly 1 million subscribers, has had the video removed since the charges were brought against him. While attempts to reach Choi for comments were unsuccessful, records indicate he was released on $50,000 bond after being charged and an arraignment was scheduled for the future. The legal issues surrounding the video shoot arose following an investigation initiated by the FAA after a report was made regarding the dangerous nature of Choi's actions.
