India secured a thrilling six-run victory over Pakistan in a low-scoring Twenty20 World Cup match on Sunday, maintaining their undefeated record in the tournament. After suffering a surprise defeat to co-host United States in a Super Over on Thursday, Pakistan bounced back to dismiss India for a meager 119 runs in 19 overs. The match took place on a challenging wicket at Long Island's Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.
Despite the early setback, Pakistan's batting lineup struggled against India's pace attack, ultimately falling short at 113-7 in 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah led the Indian bowling charge with impressive figures of 3-14 in four overs, while Hardik Pandya chipped in with 2-24.
Pakistan appeared to be in control at 80-4 in the 14th over, but Bumrah's crucial wickets of Mohammad Rizwan (31) and Iftikhar Ahmed in the final over of his spell turned the tide. With 18 runs needed off the final over, Naseem Shah (10 not out) struck two boundaries off Arshdeep Singh before leaving the field in tears. He was comforted by his batting partner Shaheen Shah Afridi as Pakistan suffered their second consecutive Group A loss.
India's earlier victory over Ireland by eight wickets at the same ground set the stage for this intense encounter. The Indian batting order faltered against the Pakistani bowling attack, with Shah and Haris Rauf both claiming 3-21. Mohammad Amir, who returned from retirement for the World Cup, also contributed with 2-23.

Bumrah’s bowling was brilliant, but India's batting was pathetic. Where's the excitement? 🤔
