China has announced plans to enhance its healthcare services for children, focusing on improving accessibility to high-quality pediatric medical resources. According to National Health Commission official Li Dachuan, the country will establish two national and five regional children's medical centers. Additionally, support will be provided for 67 key clinical specialties related to pediatric healthcare.
To further strengthen the healthcare infrastructure, each provincial-level region has been tasked with establishing a specialized children's hospital or a dedicated pediatrics department within a comprehensive hospital by 2024. These facilities will provide specialized care and expertise for young patients.
China will also implement measures to improve its 24-hour green channel and integrated pediatric services in medical institutions. This will ensure timely access to emergency care and comprehensive treatment for children. Furthermore, the country will expand its standardized training programs for pediatric resident physicians, enhancing the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals dedicated to child health.
