During the recent high-level interactions between China and Kazakhstan, President Xi Jinping and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev exchanged congratulatory messages for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Kazakhstan Year of Tourism in China.
In his message, President Xi highlighted the flourishing cultural cooperation between the two countries, including the implementation of a mutual visa exemption agreement. He expressed hope that the Year of Tourism would foster tourism collaboration, encourage mutual visits, and strengthen their traditional friendship.
President Tokayev, in his message, emphasized the significance of holding the opening ceremony in Beijing, a global economic, political, and cultural hub. He affirmed the steady development of relations between the two countries, based on friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership.
On the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met with President Tokayev. Additionally, Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang met with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu in Beijing.
China and Kazakhstan also established a mechanism for strategic dialogue between their foreign ministers. Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Nurtleu co-chaired the inaugural strategic dialogue in Beijing.
