The study, published in the prestigious journal Nature Medicine, involved analyzing data from over 190 pancreatic cancer patients over three years. The researchers developed a prognostic prediction model that identified NDUFB8 and CEMIP2 as key markers in determining chemotherapy sensitivity.

The findings were independently validated in three separate groups, including patients in France and at two hospitals in Shanghai. This validation confirms the strong clinical applicability of the markers.

The identification of these markers addresses a major challenge in pancreatic cancer treatment, which has a low overall survival rate. By accurately predicting which patients will benefit from chemotherapy, doctors can tailor treatment plans to maximize effectiveness and improve patient outcomes.
