Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun met with Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Mao Sophan in Beijing. Dong emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Cambodia, which has entered a new era of enhanced quality, level, and standards under the leadership of both countries' leaders. He highlighted the importance of implementing the consensuses reached by the leaders on military cooperation.

Dong noted the substantial cooperation between the two militaries in recent years, including group visits, joint exercises, training, and military school exchanges. He called for further deepening strategic communication, utilizing cooperation mechanisms, and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of cooperation to contribute to regional peace.

Sophan expressed Cambodia's gratitude for China's support and reaffirmed Cambodia's adherence to the one-China principle and support for China's core interests. He expressed Cambodia's willingness to strengthen practical exchanges and cooperation with China, particularly in the area of ground forces.
