On Tuesday, a total of 1,422 immigration administration police officers were honored with medals for their exceptional contributions to national security and border stability. The medals were bestowed by the National Immigration Administration (NIA) and its affiliated departments, with the approval of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council.
According to the NIA, these officers have diligently fulfilled their duties, safeguarding national political security and maintaining border stability. Police officers from Xinjiang, Xizang, and Yunnan were among those recognized.
The medals feature symbolic elements such as five stars, Great Wall passes, shields, olive branches, and snowdrops. They will be awarded annually to immigration administration police officers who have served in remote and challenging border regions. Officers with 10, 20, and 30 years of service will receive bronze, silver, and gold medals, respectively.
This is the second time that the country has presented this honorary award to immigration administration workers. In April 2023, the national immigration authorities recognized the first batch of 8,487 police officers for their exemplary work in guarding China's border regions.
