The China Coast Guard has strongly condemned the illegal landing of 34 Filipino individuals on Tiexian Reef in the South China Sea on Thursday. Spokesperson Gan Yu stated that the individuals disregarded warnings and dissuasion from the Chinese side, violating China's territorial sovereignty.
The Chinese Coast Guard dispatched law enforcement personnel to the reef to investigate and address the situation in accordance with the law. Gan emphasized that China possesses indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands, including Tiexian Reef and its surrounding waters, supported by historical and legal evidence.
The Philippine actions have infringed upon China's territorial sovereignty and violated the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea. The spokesperson expressed China's firm opposition to these actions, which disrupt peace and stability in the region.
China urges the Philippines to cease its infringements immediately. The China Coast Guard will continue to exercise its rights and enforce the law within China's jurisdiction in the South China Sea.
