China's civil aviation sector is moving swiftly to resume and expand international passenger flights as the summer season unfolds. Over 12,600 weekly international passenger flights operated by 122 Chinese and international airlines are set to link China to 66 countries, representing a substantial rise from past periods. In addition to passenger flights, more than 4,600 weekly freight flights, managed by 67 Chinese and international airlines and connecting 46 countries, have been given the green light.

The growth in international passenger flights is evident, with recent resumptions including flights to Ireland as part of the expanding network. The Civil Aviation Administration of China announced that one additional domestic airline and two foreign airlines will be operating international passenger flights this summer. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in passenger flights to neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Japan, Laos, and Russia.

Relaxed visa policies have contributed to the anticipated surge in flights to countries like Hungary, Austria, Spain, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore during the new season. As part of the evolution, more direct flights are projected to connect China to countries like the United States, with Chinese and US airlines set to operate 100 round trips a week, a rise from the initial 63. Air China has also increased its direct passenger flights to the US, reflecting a trend towards the return of international travel. Consequently, as more international flights are planned, inbound and outbound passenger traffic is expected to increase, promoting tourism and economic exchanges.
