Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica in Beijing, marking the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Li emphasized the mutual respect and equality that have characterized their relationship, leading to substantial progress and fruitful cooperation in various fields.
Li expressed China's support for Dominica's sovereignty and independence, as well as its commitment to enhancing cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, and trade under the Belt and Road Initiative. He also highlighted China's willingness to explore new areas of collaboration, such as new energy, digital economy, and blue economy.
Skerrit reciprocated by expressing Dominica's respect for China and its adherence to the one-China principle. He praised China's global initiatives and Dominica's desire to strengthen communication, increase personnel exchanges, and work together on climate change.
The meeting concluded with the signing of several bilateral cooperation documents covering areas such as Belt and Road construction, agriculture, green development, infrastructure, and the implementation of the Global Development Initiative.
