Eva Mendes on Stepping Back from Acting and Supporting Ryan Gosling
Eva Mendes, known for her roles in films like "Hitch" and "Training Day," has stepped back from acting to focus on her family. In an interview on the "Today" show, Mendes revealed that her decision to become a full-time mom was an easy one.
"I'm so lucky, and I was like, if I can have this time with my children — and I still work, I just didn't act because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away," Mendes said.
Mendes and her longtime partner, Ryan Gosling, have two daughters together. They have been together since 2011 and are known for their private lifestyle, rarely attending public events or walking red carpets together.
Mendes first met Gosling on the set of the 2012 crime thriller "The Place Beyond the Pines." She praised his work ethic and commitment to his craft, saying, "I've never experienced anything like that."
Despite her hiatus from acting, Mendes has expressed support for Gosling's career and has not ruled out a return to the screen. However, she has stated that her criteria for future roles are more selective, focusing on projects that align with her values.
